I build instruments that are meant to be played outside because that is where I like to play them. It started when I was guiding back-country canoe trips bringing youth up to Temagami, ON. I had an old guitar that I would take along but it finally exploded, dropped too many times, in the lake too many times. I realized that I needed an instrument that could handle the rocks and the rain - so I built one.
People kept asking to get their own - so I built more. I am now living in Owen Sound, ON, with my partner Ang and our two young boys. Building when I can, paddling when I can, mostly chasing the kids. |
